Plus Ultra Wageningen is the epicenter of agri-food innovation. Located in one of the world’s leading hubs for sustainable agriculture and food technology, the facility offers flexible lab and office spaces for startups, scale-ups, and established companies. In this way, Plus Ultra Wageningen brings together a strong network of innovators who are working together on the future of global food systems.
The Plus Ultra Wageningen III building was designed with the future in mind, with sustainability as its guiding principle. The facility is largely constructed of wood and is carbon-negative. Sustainability has been integrated at multiple levels to achieve BREEAM Excellent certification, with lighting playing a key role.
What kind of lighting was used?
Custom Cortina
The Cortina are custom-made for integration into the climate ceiling. In close collaboration with Van den Pol Elektrotechniek, we Cortina with the correct tolerances and dimensions. The fixtures are controlled by sensors, which contributes to an energy-efficient lighting solution.
The Odion track spot
In the entrance area and hallways, the Odion track spots provide flexible and directional lighting. The fixtures complement the building’s wooden accents and are made-to-order in our social workshops.
LED Panel B
In addition, LED Panel B was selected: an ENEC-certified fixture with a low UGR, high light output, and an expected service life of more than 100,000 operating hours. This also makes the LED panel a sustainable choice that fits well with the project.
