With “Warm-dim,” the LED behaves like an old-fashioned incandescent bulb; when dimmed, the colour the light becomes progressively warmer. With “Tuneable,” the color can change throughout the day—a feature also known as “Human Centric Lighting.”
Tuneable
The “Tuneable” lamp contains two circuits, allowing you to select either cool or warm light for maximum light output. In this case, the spotlight is connected to an Eldoled 2-channel power supply so that both channels can be driven at full power. However, we program a safety feature to prevent both channels from being driven at full power simultaneously, as this would cause the spotlight to overheat. The colour intensity can be easily selected using a DALI 8 dimmer (Osram DALI MCU) or via the Casambi app.
Warm dimming
For “Warm-dim,” the range is generally somewhat limited; our HV-FD has a range of 2200–3000K. In this case, the spot can be dimmed using a standard Triac wall dimmer, and the colour changes colour . With some devices on the market, the colour only shifts to a warm colour the light output is almost completely gone. In our HV-FD series, we’ve taken special care to ensure that the colour colour very smoothly colour at higher light output levels.
