Following years of experience at VRIELAND and Lighting Partner, a new chapter began in 2009: Illuxtron International B.V. With the rise of LED lighting, the lighting market was changing rapidly, creating an opportunity for a new generation of lighting solutions.
Illuxtron was founded with a clear vision: to develop high-quality LED lighting that is not only functional but also enhances comfort and architecture. From the outset, the focus was on product development, flexibility and innovation. Thanks to the knowledge and international experience gained by previous generations, Illuxtron quickly established itself as a specialist player in the professional lighting market. The collection expanded from downlights and spotlights to a wide range of project lighting for sectors including offices, retail, hospitality and non-residential construction.

Development in the Netherlands
From the very beginning, Illuxtron has developed its luminaires in the Netherlands using its own R&D team. This enables the company to respond quickly to new technologies, market developments and specific project requirements.
The combination of standard products and bespoke solutions has resulted in a flexible approach in which projects have become increasingly central.
Just as in the previous generation of VRIELAND, local assembly also plays an important role within Illuxtron. A large proportion of the luminaires are assembled at social workshops in Zeeland. Through this collaboration, Illuxtron demonstrates its commitment to local engagement and equal opportunities in the labour market. At the same time, local assembly ensures flexibility, quality control and short lines of communication within projects.
MIYO Custom-made lighting
In response to the growing demand for project-specific solutions, MIYO (Make It Your Own) was established: Illuxtron’s custom division. Through MIYO, Illuxtron delivers, amongst other things:Aangepaste armaturen

Lighting for Ceiling Solutions
The market has increasingly shifted towards integration and architectural lighting. This led to the development of the L4CS (Lighting for Ceiling Solutions) collection.
This collection was developed to fully integrate lighting into various ceiling systems, including:
- Wooden ceilings
- Felt ceilings
- Metal ceilings
- Climate ceilings
Lighting for light and health
In addition to architectural lighting, Illuxtron is increasingly focusing on the impact of light on health and well-being. This vision gave rise to the Light & Health collection, which centres on technologies such as Human Centric Lighting (HCL) and Biocentric Lighting (BCL).

Today, Illuxtron has grown into a Dutch lighting manufacturer with projects across Europe. Based in Vlissingen, a specialist team works daily on developing innovative lighting solutions for the project market.
