Are you searching for an older Illuxtron fixture that isn’t available in our current collection? If so, the fixture has likely been further developed or replaced by an updated version in recent years.
Our luminaires are designed in the Netherlands by our in-house R&D team and assembled locally in sheltered workshops. This approach allows us to continually optimise our luminaires and, when necessary, introduce a new generation with improved performance and updated technologies.
Below you will find an overview of previous luminaires and their current successors:
From HC-IC to HV-FD
The HV-FD is the successor to the earlier HV-IC luminaires. Within this generation, the technology has been further optimised in terms of dimmability, stability and efficiency.
Key innovations:
- Flicker-free dimming
- No flickering when combined with CAB signals on the mains supply
- Simple installation without an external driver
- Increased light output of up to 800 lumens at the same wattage
From LV to LV-HE
The previous low-voltage (LV) small and large downlights have been succeeded by the new generation of LV-HE luminaires.
Key innovations:
- New generation of Low Voltage High Efficiency LEDs (LV-HE)
- Higher light output of up to 800 lumens with lower energy consumption
- 10–15% more efficient in lumens per watt
- New KSF technology with innovative phosphor for reduced light loss
From the Pointer Series Gen 1 to the Pointer Series Gen 2
The second generation of the Pointer Series (Pointer 40 and Pointer 68 fix) has been further optimised technically for improved performance and heat dissipation.
Key innovations:
- Revised heatsink for improved heat dissipation
- Metal PCB for enhanced thermal performance
- Narrowed front ring on the Pointer 68 fixed (from 90mm to 80mm)
From Pointer 68 adjustable to Pointer Spot 68 adjustable
The Pointer Spot 68 adjustable is the successor to the earlier Pointer 68 adjustable model.
Key innovations:
- New design that fits within the current Pointer Spot collection
- Increased light output from 450 to 650 lumens
- Flexible luminaire
- More uniform appearance in projects using Pointer Spot luminaires
From Odion XL to Odion XS
The Odion XS is the successor to the previous Odion XL. While both luminaires share the same visual design, the XL version was originally created to provide a higher lumen output, which required a larger driver housed in a separate unit on the track. However, with advancements in LED efficiency, this separate housing is no longer necessary. The Odion XS can now achieve the same high lumen output within its compact design.
Key innovations:
- Higher lumen output within the compact XS design
- No longer requires an external driver housing
- Improved efficiency thanks to new LED technology
