Replacement for LV+PS modules

Posted by

A few weeks ago we informed you that our Linea and Curion 185 LV+PS generation 1 will replaced by our generation 2 versions. These generation 2 luminaires looks the same, however the performances are even better. You can find this luminaire in our catalogue by the name of Curion and Linea LV(-HE)+PS (Gen 2).
Logically, you would like to know exactly what these technical differences are. For a start, the generation 2 luminaires allow us to create more light output using less energy. Hereby the official energy label moves up from A to A+. The generation 1 luminaires needed 15,5 W to create a light output of 1250 Lumen, while the generation 2 luminaires need just 11,2 W to create a light output of 1400 Lumen. As a result, the efficiency of the luminaires increases greatly: from 80 Lm/W (Gen 1) to 110 Lm/W (Gen2). With these efficiency levels the luminaires even meet the Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) (now applying).
Colour rendering
With the generation 2 luminaires we can also offer you more options. We can now offer you 3 different lumen outputs instead of 2: 1400, 2200 and 3500 in 2700K, 3000K and 4000K. The Linea and Curion are both equipped with a Cree TrueWhite® LED technology module. These high-end modules create an excellent colour rendering in combination with maximum efficiency. That good a colour rendering is quite unique in combination with a high Lm/W ratio. The CRI of the generation 2 modules is 95. Also the Rg-level of 105 is extremely high, resulting in superior contrast within colours. CREE, as opposed to many other manufacturers, has paid enormous attention to maintaining the quality of colour rendering during the entire lifetime of a luminaire. This means that even at the end of a luminaire’s lifetime, the colour rendering is as good as when you first bought it.
The TrueWhite technology is a patented technology of CREE.

We have had to wait a while for the final introduction but now the first orders of the DS-A and DS-AT have been sent! During the developing process we received several samples and after a few tests we had to conclude that the samples did not meet our quality standards. At that point we had to make the decision to postpone the introduction until we were 100% satisfied with these great products. And that moment is finally here.
Developing process
We would like to give you an impression of the DS-A and DS-AT’s developing process. An extended version of this project can be found under the caption ‘white papers’ on this website. Our R&D team started in 2014 with drafting and developing the DS-A and DS-AT. When we received the first samples, we found out that when the spot was tilted out of the ceiling, it was possible to look through the ceiling plates. That made the overall view messy and for that reason our R&D team chose to create a box around the luminaire. However, when testing the sample including this new construction it turned out that this solution was very hard to install. Installation was only possible with at least two people. Also there was almost no space to connect the cables. As of that moment the team started working on the user friendliness of these luminaires. After completing this step, the samples and their technical performance were approved: the DS-A and DS-AT were ready for production.
Because we expected these luminaires to be introduced much earlier, we already added them to our previous catalogue. Therefore, please note that the specifications in our previous catalogue are not correct. We expect to launch our new catalogue in which all the correct data is added, in September this year. Until that time you can download the latest datasheets on

Clients rate Illuxtron International with an 8 in the field of customer satisfaction!

Posted by

Illuxtron International has grown rapidly over the last few years. Not only where it concerns sales, but also where it concerns the number of employees. To keep improving and to professionalise, we have started to take a closer look at our business strategy and we have set up several goals for ourselves. The primary goal was to define our strengths as well as our areas for improvement in order to satisfy the needs of our clients in every way possible. Part of the process has been a customer satisfaction survey.

In May and April of this year, we asked our clients to participate in our research. We are thankful that many of our clients took the time to fill in the questionnaire; an impressive response rate of no less than 40%. Illuxtron International achieved an 8 for overall customer satisfaction; a grade we are very proud of.

The questionnaire shows us that our clients are very satisfied with our order handling process; which they rated with an 8.6. In particular the fast production and delivery times greatly influenced this impressive rate. Clients were more critical about sales promotions. For that reason we started our European Championship promotion, which has been a big success. In the future we will organise similar sales promotions. Another area which could be improved upon turned out to be our online communication. Luckily we already took steps to professionalise this. We are now sending a digital newsletter, our corporate website is live and we share more information on social media. Also, via social media we give you a sneak peek behind the scenes of our company.

If you have any feedback you would like to share with us, we would appreciate it if you contact us. This way we can keep developing ourselves, in order to maintain this high level of customer satisfaction and maybe even improve it in the future.
